Las Vegas - Sin City

Las Vegas - Arrived after a long flight but excited at my prospects in the poker pits and at the roulette wheel.

Day 182 Las Vegas Arizona
Nov 4, 2008

Day 182 Las Vegas - Arizona No rush start again and a relaxed breakfast as we did some washing and discussed the next few days. With a few days up our sleeves before we head home it was decided to spend a couple of days after leaving here at Barstow, then head north towards Yosemite National Park. We headed off back up the strip to take in a few...

Day 181 Las Vegas Nevada
Nov 3, 2008 (5 photos)

Day 181 Las Vegas - Nevada We set off on the bus to head downtown, this was to give us a glimpse of the older area of town, as well as take us to some outlet shopping. (or so we thought!) We had made contact with Owen & Bev again and had arranged to meet with them at 3pm at Circus, Circus. The bus trip is still a slow means of transport, but...

Day 180 Las Vegas Arizona
Nov 2, 2008 (5 photos)

Day 180 Las Vegas - Arizona A slower beginning today, without travel plans and a day to wander around the famous strip to see what was happening. Daylight saving finished for this country so we gained an hour of time to do with what we choose, on Sunday in Vegas, not one of the travellers chose to visit the church! We wandered out to catch the ...

Day 179 Kingman Arizona - Los Vegas Nevada With not a great distance to travel we didn't head off in a big rush. We stopped off at the Staples print shop to have the whole Blog printed. (159 pages, gee that is a lot of writing and a LOT of trip!)) we have done this to enable some editing and the typos etc can be fixed. It will also help us under...

10/20/08 A couple of months ago Amy was diagnosed with endometriosis. We were told it would be extremely difficult to get pregnant. Although disappointed, we figured what ever was meant to be was meant to be. Looks like we are expecting the unexpected...sooner than we thought. Amy is pregnant! We finished our work assignment in CA on 10/16/08, t...

We had a fantastic time on vacation. The only thing I wish is that we stayed at a different hotel and that we rented the car longer then 2 days. We booked the hotel because it was a good rate. The place was massive and there were thousands of people all over the place. The shuttle bus from the airport dropped us off. Once we found the lobby we s...

Dave was up early to photograph the sunrise, but the girls slept in. We packed and set off for Las Vegas. It took about 5 hours to get to Vegas. On the way we drove through the Hoover Dam site - this is a pretty amazing Hydro electricity site on the Colorado River that has been in operation since the 1930s. We arrived in Las Vegas mid afternoon....

Stayed there

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-03-25
We loved our stay ..Want to go back real soon.

It was great! But had some negatives.

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-03-19
So I get to CC at 12 am their time, 3 am mine. I'm really tired oping nothing will go wrong, and that the check in won't suck. Hey it didn't. The line was short and they had my room in the west ower which they upgraded to a deluxe. I got some sleep, and then the next day (sunday) was expecting the worst. Luckily it wasn't at all, first had brunch at the steak house! (WONDERFUL) Later i Went to the adventuredome, with no complaints of anything, and the park was clean and friendly, nothing like our six flags in Jackson. Overall Circus Circus was wonderful for my stay, and I will definately come back. I warn you the people who are unhappy with their sta, is because they get a manor/motel room, instead of paying 10 extra buxx for a nice roo, so come on down for a fun time on the strip!!!!

Hey -- It's a Fun Family Hotel

from CANADIAN2006 on 2003-03-03
If you have kids this is a great place to visit for the day or stay the night if your on a budget. Other than the passed out Gamblers upon check in...The hotel was not that bad. We stayed 2 nights here and 2 nights at Mandalay Bay and my bill was 75% less at Circus. For people that give his a bad rating, I would ask them to look at the price per night. My only concern was the second hand smoke as the ventalation system is not like the newer Hotels.Fun-10/10 Value:8/10Service:7/10 Check in/out:10/10 Rooms:7/10 Ventalation System:0/10

Too Many Rugrats....

from jungle on 2003-03-02
For a couple extra bucks, you can select a much better hotel, screaming/crying kids everywhere, why weren't they in school? lobby heavily crowded all day, people sleeping on the sofas, room not made up one day, no water for one afternoon, bogus surcharge for a telephone, room a block from the elevator...poor location to the rest of the strip, crummy slots (try the westward Ho slots, they pay better)...buffet not good, even for 6.99 lunch!!! You get what you pay for and this was a learning experience. Would not recommend this hotel/Casino to anyone..

A dump!!

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-02-21
I stayed in a Manor room. I wanted the Tower rather than the Manor, but all rooms were booked in the Tower. Since I flew into Las Vegas and took a taxi to the hotel, I had to walk from the hotel to my room which was about 1/2 mile away. No trams to the rooms out there. The hallway in 'E' Manor had a huge gaping hole with ripped out tiles in the ceiling near the door. My room was not worth the $73 I spent. There were toenail clippings on the floor near the bed. The was no soap in the room. The carpet was threadbare and unclean. The shower had mold and the shower curtain was filthy. I checked out the next day and was able to get into Harrah's, where there was a world of difference in cleanliness.

Better than expected ...

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-02-13
Even though schools were not on break, there were still lots of kids.

Our room in the West Tower was very nice, great view across the city

and to the mountains. Breakfast buffet is nothing fancy or special, but

certainly adequate and acceptable for the price. The Steakhouse was

excellent, but be sure to make reservations. The bellmen were the most

helpful whenever we had questions. Overall, plenty of bang for your

buck.

Major Family Hotel!

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-02-04
This is a great place to take your family, kid themed everywhere! It is crowded, but with families! I wouldn't go if your going as a couple, but with a family its great. The decor is really nice, the food is good, but its a crowded place, but that means its great! If don't see a crowd at a resturant...something is wrong! You cannot go wrong with the price either and the pool is HUGE! Service is just as great.

Terrible - Don't Stay Here

from A TripAdvisor User on 2003-01-26
If you want to go to Circus, Circus... go there to gamble and go to the indoor amusement park...but don't stay.

The view from our room included (at nost extra cost) a lovely view of the garbage covered roof and heating system.

During our two-night stay, we were greeted each time we entered our room by dirty dishes in the hallway... the same dirty dishes everyday. housekeeping never came by to clean it up, even though they did clean our room.

Additionally, the customer service is poor (except for one nice gentleman in the whole place)

Spend your money elsewhere!

Excellent hotel for the price

from tocreative on 2003-01-03
For the price it is an excellent place to stay. The only complaint is that it is at the end of the strip. Along walk to reach main hotels. Being a kid type of place I did not find it to be a problem. We didn't take any kids with us and it was fine.

For families

from A TripAdvisor User on 2002-06-03
I used to live in LV, so when we were looking for lodging for our week summer vacation, I decided to try Circus Circus. It was perfect for all of us. The pool is open until 9:00PM and then we all went downstairs to the fairway and played carnival games. $5.00 lasted the kids an hour! They won earrings and stuffed animals. Then we watched the nightly circus acts. The last day we went to The Adventure Dome. It was so clean and safe. The kids had an absolute ball. Everything you need under one roof. Five stars for Circus Circus and its devotion to families!
