Preparations

We are preparing for this journey by contacting the fifty Friends meetings and churches we plan to visit along the way. We will actually begin with a visit to Montreal Friends Meeting and then Toronto Friends Meeting during our train trip across Canada towards Vancouver, wehre we'll begin the walking portion of the trip.
We have been creating a website which will be up and running soon. Just go to www.peaceforearth.org by mid June and you will learn more about us and our trip. We have been working with our oversight committee, which was appointed by the Burlington Friends Meeting. They have provided feedback and spiritual support during all our preparations. We feel blessed by them.
During this summer and fall we'll walk, bike, and do outdoor projects to keep ourselves in shape. Finding the right shoes, packs, and other equipment has been a big piece of the preparation. We are very grateful for the financial support from the Lyman Fund, the Obadiah Brown Fund, the Quaker Stamp Project, Quaker Earthcare Witness, and individuals. As. we draw closer to our departure date, we'll update you all on our plans.
